The TaylorMade Burner Plus Irons were released to the golf world in 2008, and are designed and intended to be very easy to hit and also very forgiving.

Due to its oversized club face, the club isn't ideal for those sub-10 handicappers who are content with their shot distance. If anything, it could prove detrimental to these types of golfers, as the oversized club face could yield problems for those who have established a low handicap with a traditionally sized club face.

TaylorMade have included what is called Superfast Technology with these irons. Which here means slightly lighter and longer shafts, with the intention of increasing a players swing speed so that the ball will fly off the club face faster.

One of the first things that we noticed was that the large club faces on these irons do help to inspire confidence at address. However it does take afew practice swings and afew shots to get used to the overall lighter weight of the irons, but this isn't too much of an issue.

For those looking to shed a few strokes in their quest for a single-digit handicap via added distance and ball height, the TaylorMade Burner Plus line of irons just might be the ticket to such a goal. Low handicappers should look elsewhere.

As mentioned, these TaylorMade irons were intended to be easy to hit, and they certainly are that. Once you get used to the weight and get a feel for the clubs, it probably wouldn't be too difficult for most golfers, even higher handicappers, to start hitting reasonably consistent shots, and playing better golf.

Also another thing that was very clear, and something that everyone whom we spoke to who has used the TaylorMade Burner Plus irons seemed to agree on, is how impressive the distance and power is with these clubs.

While not being the most important factor that the majority of golfers would look for in an iron. It is an area that these irons definitely deliver on.

TaylorMade Burner irons have been around for a while and always considered to be a good set of golf clubs. The current model, Burner Plus is no different. The TaylorMade Burner Plus is designed for the average golfer with a swing speed of 65-100. The TaylorMade Burner Plus irons feature the following:

Despite launching the ball on a fairly high trajectory alot of the time, the distance and carry is still very good due to the impressively high ball speeds that the Burner Plus irons create.

The first time you try these irons on the course you could find yourself over-clubbing alot. So the extra distance is something that takes a little bit of getting used, just like the lighter weight.

So just what is the SuperFast technology? This is something that can only be found on TayorMade golf clubs. SuperFast technology involves the usage of the lightest materials available to produce the golf clubs. Those lighter materials consists of lighter shafts, lighter metal, and lighter grips. Even with all those light materials, TaylorMade is able to produce one of the most forgiving club heads.

Forgiveness wise though the Burner Plus irons do perform reasonably well, admittedly the ball didn't always go where it was intended. But about 8 or 9 times out of 10 a mis-hit was still in the right ball park, very rarely was a bad strike severely punished.

Despite that though, we still feel that there are probably slightly more forgiving irons out there from TaylorMade. But that's usually without offering you the distance that the Burner Plus irons do.

The TaylorMade Burner Plus irons are designed with a multi functional sole. The sole of the club head is beveled at the back. Because the club head is beveled in the back, playing out of different lies and having consistent results is possible. The beveled sole creates a low, deep center of gravity making the launch easy! The heel and toe of the TaylorMade Burner Plus clubs are also recessed. This reduces the drag on the club head.

For the better players, these irons do offer a decent amount of workability when trying to manipulate the flight of shots. A capable golfer who knows what they're doing should certainly be able to achieve some good results.

Overall the Burner Plus irons could really benefit any level of golfer who would particularly like more distance in their iron play. It will be very difficult for most players to find and iron that they can carry further than the Burner Plus.

A lot of golf club manufactures claim that they have the longest hitting golf clubs. An old trick to cause that is they change the loft of the irons. So one companies 6 iron might be 28 degrees and the other companies is 26 degrees. The lower the loft the farther the ball will travel.   Takes some time on this site to figure out the in between adjustments but they do make a difference and if you have a consistent swing the adjustments may help you tune it. If you try the TaylorMade Burner Plus Irons , you may have such feelings.
