The new Taylor Made Tour Burner Driver features a dynamic combination of advanced physics and power. The Tour Burners top crown boasts a bigger more powerfull base which has been deemed Dual Crown Technology. Take advantage of a deeper and lower center of gravity for unmatched forgiveness, control and Tour Power.

The TaylorMade Tour Burner driver performance comes from TaylorMade's new Dual Crown technology, wherein the size of the crown is noticeably smaller than the large sole. A clearly delineated groove encircles the extra large club head, separating the crown and sole. The smaller crown is 12% lighter than the crown of TaylorMade's Burner driver. Also crucial is TaylorMade's Ultra-Thin Wall casting technology, which allows the club head walls to measure as little as .55 millimetres thick. The weight saved by the TaylorMade Tour Burner driver's Dual Crown and Ultra-Thin Wall technologies is redistributed to create an exceptionally low CG location – among the lowest ever in a TaylorMade driver. On a vertical axis, the Tour Burner's CG is positioned 40% lower in relation to the centre of the clubface than the Burner TP.

TaylorMade's family of Burner drivers is engineered for those who want to bomb it (by contrast, adjustable-weight r7 clubs are for those who like to tinker).

The new Tour Burner and Tour Burner TP feature a smaller, lighter and crown (by 12%) that distributes more mass lower the head. This new design helps shots take off higher, and with less spin, than they do with the previous Burner. The payoff is greater distance. Tests by our exclusive equipm"at 100 mph swing speed"] due to 1.5-degree higher launch.

The TaylorMade Tour Burner driver head's exceptionally high MOI makes it extremely stable and forgiving on off-centre hits. That benefit, combined with the advantage provided by TaylorMade's renowned Inverted Cone clubface technology, results in even higher ball speed on off-centre hits. Inverted Cone Technology, characterized by a shallow cone milled directly onto the inner side of the clubface, changes the way the face behaves at impact so that a larger area of the face delivers higher ball speed.

Sounds simple but here's the physics of it: The center of gravity (CG) in most drivers is located well back from the face to produce high launch. But this alone could increase spin too much and impede overall distance. Dropping the CG lower in the head reduces spin and potentially boosts total distance. In actual numbers, the CG in Tour Burner is 5 millimeters below the center of the face versus 3 mm in the Burner TP.

The combined benefits of the Tour Burner driver's high MOI and Inverted Cone Technology result in what TaylorMade calls "effective MOI," or "eMOI," that exceeds 5800 (the USGA's limit on MOI is 5900). TaylorMade's definition of eMOI is the positive influence on ball speed on off-centre hits that's exerted by the combined effects of a driver's MOI and clubface technology (versus constant-thickness clubfaces). eMOI in TaylorMade drivers is dramatically higher, and more valuable in terms of its affect on ball speed, than MOI alone, owing to the benefits of TaylorMade's patented Inverted Cone Technology. The Tour Burner's large sole serves a second valuable purpose by creating an expansive address footprint that promotes increased confidence, and the advanced club head geometry delivers the kind of great impact sound and feel for which TaylorMade drivers are famous. The TaylorMade Tour Burner also features TaylorMade's SuperFast technology, embodied by the combination of a SuperFast 60-gram shaft that combines low torque (2.8) with a stiff .350" tip, an extra-light grip and a club-length of 45.5". Together these components promote faster swing speed for increased distance.

The Tour Burner comes with the Reax SuperFast 60-gram shaft at 45.5". It is also available through the firm's SelectFit custom fitting system.

The TaylorMade Tour Burner driver has a powerful look from the side, but from above it has a slightly triangular shape as the back of the club is pulled away from the face. Compared to the TP version, the standard Tour Burner is shallower top to bottom and longer heel to toe and therefore sounds a little more hollow. The forgiveness was good right across the face and the trajectory was lower than most other drivers around, which was a positive point. Despite the name the standard Tour Burner did not really set us on fire, as we are unsure about the looks and as ever with TaylorMade the TP version is the one to go for as the shaft is much better quality, but at what cost?

  This club look great! It also launches the ball really well. when i swing it feels like there is a little bit of lag... other drivers feel faster but maybe it is just me. It may be faster than the other ones i have used. Overall I think it is a really nice driver!

  I have tried Several different High end Drivers and I tested a few other Taylormade Drivers and This one is a best! I had a mean slice for a while and I got this because I was told by a club professional that I would benefit from a driver with a draw bias and he was right! I got this driver, immediately went to the range and hit a bucket. No shot was less than 250 and not one ball was sliced or hooked! Now I think I'm hooked, lol. This Driver is PERFECT!!!!!!

  This Tour Burner Driver is a great club. I have had it for about 1 month now and have hit it about 5 or 6 times on the course. This particular club has the face closed I believe one degree so that has played a few tricks with my golf game that I will need to work out on the range but other than that when I hit with this club my ball normally goes 25-40 yds further than with my old driver. I would recommend this club to anyone.

  Well, I just left a review on her for a TM 07 Burner that I loved initially until I played with it and got no distance. My fault though it was an HT and I missed that detail in the excitement of getting that big 460cc head versus the Titliest Great Big Bertha I had been using for years.
  
  Anyway, store gave me a refund and I bought a 9.5* Tour Burner! Man this club feels good. It has good solid head weight and feels amazing on contact! I havent played yet, but I am pumped that this driver will produce the distance and consistency I have been looking for.
