The R9 features a dual head design made for both performance and control. the 3-5 irons feature a high repulsion face with hollow cavity structure for increased distance. Each R9 MAX long-iron and middle-iron (3- through 6-) houses a large and fully enclosed compartment positioned behind the clubface, underneath the cavity badge. We call it a wrap-around clubface because it acts like a face that wraps around the top-line and the leading edge, which gives the face more freedom to flex and reflex at impact, much like a thin-faced driver.

What handicaps do the taylormade r9 max irons suit for?

The Max has bigger head and hollow cavity, translating to more surface area and therefore more suitable for beginners.
Great Irons, TaylorMade is always in good quality. I have the r5 driver and its great too. I like R9 Max Irons ,it is my favori. It is so nice.
These irons are the most forgiving irons I have played yet in my golf career. I switched from the Mizuno MP-32's to these and it probably was the smartest decision for me. Even if you hit it thin, the feel is amazing. It is not as hard on your hands as it may be for blades. I would recommend these clubs for golfers who have a handicap in the double digits. These clubs are pretty easy to work with.
